In this article, I examined why AI-powered diagnostic technology is prone to misdiagnose Black men with a schizoaffective disorder solely based on their ethnicity label. I analyzed the data that powers the Natural Language Systems and Neural Networks behind the diagnostic technology in hopes of educating a larger audience on the bias integrated into the Large Language Models (LLMs) that work to power modern diagnostic technology.
